授業目標

科学、テクノロジー、環境、経済、文化、心理、医療、健康など様々な学問分野からの興味深いトピックを扱いながら、英語の4技能 (リーディング、ライティング、リスニング、スピーキング)を総合的に学びつつ、主としてまとまった内容を理解して聞き取る力を養成することを目的とします。要点を聞き取り、論理的な流れを把握する能力を養います。

Preparation and review of each lesson are integral part of the course.

授業の概要

This class is aiming for a four-skill-integrated approach and each lesson will cover the following sections:

1: Skill Training (Vocabulary)
2: Skill Training (Pronunciation)
3: Hear Me Out 2

By combining these skills, students will be guided to develop a skilled hearing ability of everyday English.

3 Unit 2: Describing people
4 Unit 3: Asking and talking about special events
5 Unit 4: Asking and talking about school schedule
6 Unit 5: Asking and talking about a trip
7 Unit 6: Asking about and describing homes
8 Unit 7: Discussing and bargaining for customer goods
9 Unit 8: Asking about and describing jobs
10 Unit 9: Asking for information and making excuses
11 Unit 10: Asking for and giving tour information
12 Unit 11: Placing and taking orders for take-out food
13 Unit 12: Asking and talking about stress and relaxation
14 Unit 13: Asking and talking about news stories
15 Term test

成績評価

The criteria for passing this lessen are:
1. 60% and more understanding of the contents
2. Good command of spoken English (both aural and oral)
3. Fairly strong willingness to communicate

Assignments: 50%
Skills (Vocabulary/Pronunciation): 20%
Term Test: 30%
