授業目標

A separation operation is important in chemical processes due to the quality of products and running operation.
This lecture will focus on the principle of the basic separation operation, such as adsorption, drying and membrane separation.
This course will enable students to understand the following items.

(1) Principle of the adsorption
(2) Outline of the adsorption batch operation
(3) Outline of the adsorption fixed bed operation
(4) Principle of the humidity and drying
(5) Outline of the humidity and drying
(6) Principle of the membrane separation
(7) Outline of the membrane separation operation

The goals of this course are to

(1) Obtain basic knowledge about the adsorption operation, humidity and drying operation and membrane separation operation.

(2) Understand the design of adsorption operation, humidity and drying operation and membrane separation operation.

Preparation a report based on the examinations given as a homework in every class.

授業の概要

Advanced knowledge of adsorption, drying and membrane separation is essential for separation process. This lecture consists of the following topics: Fundamentals and application of adsorption , drying and membrane separation.

This lecture will consist of the following :
1) Principle of the separation process
2-3) Principle of the adsorption
4-5) Outline of the adsorption batch operation
6-7) Outline of the adsorption fixed bed operation
7-9) Principle of the humidity and drying
10-11) Outline of the humidity and drying process
12-13) Principle of the membrane separation
14-15) Outline of the membrane separation operation
16) Final test

成績評価

Evaluation will be based on the total scores of the final reports (50%) and small reports after every class (50%). Students will be required to get more than 60% to earn the credit (grade C).
