授業目標

The general objective of this course is to improve studentsf listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills. A specific goal will be to function exclusively in English, producing sentences to ask questions, answer questions, express opinions about various topics, and lead group discussions.

授業の概要

Participants in this course will exercise each of the four skills: listening, speaking, reading, and writing. There will be three units on three different topics. Each unit will include a video listening portion and an article for reading taken from internet sources. Most class time will be spent discussing topics in small groups or as a class. There will be many written homework assignments submitted by email. Every student will have the chance to be the group leader. By the end of the semester, they will research, prepare, and be able to present material based on a topic of the studentfs choice. There will also be a final quiz.
